This track has a thrilling altitude difference, as you touch 3000 m a.s.l. and you can see Bormio from a very particular perspective.
It starts from Bormio and via a paved road of about ten kilometers you reach Bormio 2000. From there a dirt road starts that allows you to reach the top, with very demanding and stony stretches. The summit is enchanting, but the fun begins after so much effort.
The technical descent winds along a very stony path, with boulders that are sometimes unstable. After an initial stretch of descent, you have to go up again for a small stretch and then resume the descent practically up to Bormio. A break is a must at the Bei Laghetti, where unspoilt nature reigns supreme.
The return to Bormio from the road that leads to Santa Caterina is expected, as it takes a bit of relaxation after so much effort.
During the summer high season, it is possible to make the ascent by cable car, which takes you up to the top, but that's not worth it!!! Warning: the upper part of the track is only suitable for expert bikers.
