Trail description

The Tornantissima is the most famous and well-known freeride descent of the Five Crazy Down - a series of five MTB descents around Tirano. This descent is only suitable for more experienced bikers, as it has steep slopes and exposed hairpin bends. 2000m of difference in altitude downhill for an infinite number of hairpin bends.

The starting point of the route is in Grosio, from where you can reach Passo del Mortirolo by pedaling or with the bike shuttle (covering about 16km for a difference in altitude of 1200m ).

Then continue on asphalt up to Alpe Varadega from where a military road with a bumpy surface starts which leads - with sections that are difficult to pedal and a few hairpin bends - to an altitude of 2500m, just below Cima Varadega, where the descent begins.

The descent is technical, sometimes exposed, but very fun, where in the initial part it involves a series of tight switchbacks with bumpy surfaces until you enter the woods where the surface becomes smoother.< /p>

The last stretch of the descent is covered on a mule track that leads to the gates of Grosio.

An endless descent and lots of fun for this famous track.
