A paradise for mountain bikers in the heart of the Alps: this is the Bormio, Livigno, and Santa Caterina Valfurva mountain biking offer.
We are in Alta Rezia, a territory between Alta Valtellina (province of Sondrio) and Engadine (Grisons, Switzerland).
These valleys offer a number of opportunities for passionate mountain bikers to enjoy mountain – of course without neglecting the well known climbs Stelvio Pass, Gavia Pass and Mortirolo Pass made famous by professional cyclists.
Memorable trails at high altitudes, military roads still in good condition, dirt roads in the woods and near alpine lakes, cycling lanes at the valley bottom, bike parks and skill parks are just a few of the many alternatives to explore this stunning area and have fun with your mountain bike.
Furthermore, you can enjoy your MTB holiday thanks the Bormio thermal baths and its 3 spas, the local food and Valtellina wines, and the pure nature of Stelvio National Park.
On BormioBike you’ll find information on the trails - mapped with GPS - suitable for both road bike and mountain bike in the area of Bormio, Livigno, Santa Caterina Valfurva, Tirano and Switzerland. We perfectly know the territory and we have the technical knowledge and skills needed to support you during your bike trips or tours.
Freeride, all mountain, enduro: the Bormio area offers the trails that best suit your needs.
Bormio means cycling lanes across the entire territory, easy paths suitable for families: the Cancano lakes tour, Val Viola or Decouville are just a few but very charming examples.
Livigno means bike park and flow trails where the fun side is in the speed. The bike park is perfect for you if you have the right technique, but there are many other routes for beginners too, who want to have fun with their mountain bikes, surrounded by an amazing landscape.
Santa Caterina Valfurva
Santa Caterina Valfurva means technical and natural trails of medium/high difficulty. These trails are in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, where it is difficult not to have a break to take pictures and stare at the high glaciers overlooking the entire territory. The technicality of the trails is perfect for experienced free riders too.
Tirano means old mule tracks fully fixed and clean, with steep slopes and many hairpin turns. This is the perfect place to experience pure fun and to get the most of a not too difficult and challenging free ride practice. The famous Tornantissima and the Col d'Anzana descent are just an example.
Switzerland is magic and authenticity. You can experience unique paths in places that are home to the Swiss style: cleanliness, precision, care for things. Two good and representative examples are the descents from Bernina Pass – for the ascents use the famous Bernina Express, the Bernina red train that is UNESCO World Heritage Site - and Val d'Uina.
