Trail description
Probably the best known and most loved route that the splendid mountains around Bormio can offer for two wheels.
The best cyclists from all times and the 2758 m altitude of the Stelvio Pass are an ambitious and satisfying goal for those who pedal.
The departure from Bormio allows us to get closer to the summit with a series of hairpin bends, which quickly and with difficulty allow you to gain height.
Before the last stretch, perhaps the most demanding, 4 km from the Stelvio Pass, turn left. You enter Swiss territory and begin to descend. Once in Santa Maria, turn right and through the splendid Val Monastero you return to Italy, where the fascinating fortress of Glorenza is located.
The stretch that is missing to get to Prato dello Stelvio it's peaceful and without difficulty.
It's from there that the real adventure begins with a 25km climb, for a difference in height of 1800m. Having reached the Stelvio pass, satisfied and exhausted, we begin the final descent towards Bormio.
